ITM Components are European leading distributor of professional audio video product manufacturer Gefen, USA, who have just developed this technology, which can extend to a kilometer, whist still transmitting superior video quality.
GefenPRO DVI FM-1500 and the DVI FM-2000 allow you to view high resolution computer data on a DVI display when the computer is safely stored in a rack or control room. Both products use modular sender and receiver units that install in seconds.
Gefen DVI FM-1500 extends high resolution DVI (1920x1200) up to 1 kilometer (3280 feet) in distance using single-mode fibre optic cabling terminated in SC connectors. Up to 500 meters (1640 feet) can be reached using multi-mode fibre. This streamlines the installation while eliminating EMI (electromagnetic interference). Two small transceivers are connected at the local and remote locations, linked by a single strand of fiber optic cable. Virtual EDID programming ensures a constant synching of the video source to the monitor used in the system.
Gefen DVI FM-2000 sends dual link DVI resolutions up to 3840x2400 are delivered from the high resolution graphics computer to the remote display using two multi-mode fibre optic cables terminated with SC connectors, reaching up to 300 meters (1000 feet) in distance. The use of two dual link fibre optic cables ensures the integrity of delivery without signal quality loss.
